Single-piece hydrophobic acrylic aspheric intraocular lens

This IOL uses a safe and uniform soft acrylic resin for the optics and a safe PMMA resin for the haptics. It is produced by HOYA's unique polymer materials technology using a lathe-cut and tumble-polish manufacturing method leaving the lens with an extremely smooth optical surface.

The haptics are formed in a special "round loop design" which prevents optic deformation (bulging) during capsular contractions.

The HOYA aspheric lens is presented in a preloaded disposable injector, and has a chromophore filter to block harmful blue light. The chromophore lens has natural colour tones just as the human crystalline lens. It protects the retina by absorbing UV-light and a part of visible shortwave light.

The HOYA AF-1 PY60AD not only has the square edge technology but also an advanced step edge allowing the lens to adhere more tightly to the posterior capsule after insertion and thereby lowering PCO.
